Handcrafted Magic Since 1975

 Meet… Louis Paul

My story…

Born & raised in Cumberland, Maryland, a small town that is nestled in a valley of the great Appalachian Mountains. Here is where my love for magic began along with the skills to build just about anything from wood & metal.

At the early age of eight, my parents gave me a set of wood carving tools for Christmas. My father, worried that I would cut my fingers off, showed me the proper & safe way to used hand & power tools. By the age of twelve, my interest in magic began and the two merged into one.

While in junior & senior high school, my favorite classes were the wood, metal & drafting shops.

I studied & worked under master magician & craftsman, James Swoger (House of Enchantment - Somerset, PA), learning the magic manufacturing business from top to bottom.

During the Summer of 1975, in the basement of my parent’s home, “Windy’s House of Mystery” was born. Using money, I saved from years of delivering newspapers, I purchased several used power tools, and like magic, I was in business.

In the early 80’s, as my tool collection & business grew, more working space was needed. With paper & pencil in hand, my father & I sketched out the plans for a new workshop. Together we built a two story 30’ x 30’ building next to our family home. When the new workshop was opened, the name of the business was changed to “Louis Paul Productions”.

Over the years I have created, designed & custom-built magic props & supplies for magicians & entertainers from all over the world.

From the start, my mission was to build the finest handcrafted magic equipment possible at a fair price.

And that is still my mission today.
